A deed entered in Somerset county conveys 3,492 acres of denuded timber land in Lincoln, Jefferson and Jenner townships from the Byers-Allen Lumber company to the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for $17,336.90. The land will be replanted with timber and become part of the proposed state reserve forests. Negotiations are pending for additional thousands of acres for this project.
