Pittsburgh Broker Sells 1,000 Acres of Westmoreland County Coal Land at $40 an Acre
William G. Humphrey, Bijou building, sold to Moses and Joseph Fereday of Pittsburgh 500 acres of coal land near Ligonier and the right of way of the Pittsburgh, Westmoreland & Somerset railroad, for $40 an acre.
This land is in Westmoreland county and the purchasers intend to develop and operate it early next spring. The same broker also sold to E. M. Sandyes of Washington, D. C., formerly of Pittsburgh, 500 acres of coal land adjoining the above tract for $40 an acre. Mr. Sandyes bought this for investment.
