Buys 1,200 Acres of Land
Ligonier Companies to Develop Timber and Coking Coal in Westmoreland County.
David M. Menoher of Ligonier, representing the McConnellsburg Manufacturing Company and the Byers-Allen Lumber Company, both Ligonier concerns, has purchased from Clearfield and Jefferson county capitalists 1,200 acres of timber land in Ligonier township, Westmoreland county. The purchase price was $20,000. The tract is along the Pittsburg, Westmoreland & Somerset Railroad and will be developed immediately. It is underlaid with coking coal and ovens will be erected.
