Somerset To Pittsburgh

While in Somerset last week Capt. Allen, one of the promoters of the Pittsburg, Westmoreland & Somerset Railroad, let the information drop that an effort will be made by the management to induce the Pennsylvania Railroad to install a though daily passenger service between Somerset and Pittsburgh. This could easily be accomplished by transferring a passenger coach from the P. W. & S. to the P.R.R. tracks at Latrobe. The success of the effort will of course depend largely upon the number of through passengers traveling between the two points, and since the "knights of the trip" make up by far the largest portion of that class it is likely that special inducements will be offered to them to use the new road.
