A New Town
Among the new towns that are springing up in consequence of the coming of new railroads is that of Allendale, five miles north of Somerset, on the Cyrus Saylor farm. It is on the line of the Pittsburg, Westmoreland & Somerset railroad. The stations on the new railroad will probably be Somerset, Husband, Allendale, Sufall (sic) [should be Zufall jra]. Hutton, Laughlinstown (sic) and Ligonier. Hutton is the headquarters of the extensive lumbering operations of the Byers-Allen Lumber Company.
