Securing Coal Territory
Mr. Crossland has been securing a lot of coal territory in the eastern part of Ligonier township the past two or three weeks. D. M. Menoher was out with him several days last week and they secured the coal rights of quite a lot of farms in that section. The lower vein of coal, which is about three and one half feet in thickness, is the one secured. This vein is at various depths, some places cropping out while at other places it is from two hundred to four hundred feet below the surface. It is said to be excellent coal and will likely come into market as the demand for coal increases.
