Case Is Now On
L, V. R, Rs Witnesses Were Heard This Morning
The famous case of the Ligonier Valley Railroad Company vs. the Borough of Latrobe, in which the former seeks to have made perpetual the injunction preventing the borough from erecting crossings at Weldon and Spring streets, was called before Judge Doty this morning, and is attracting considerable interest. At the morning session of the Court, three witnesses were heard in favor of the railroad company, the three being P. Janeway, the engineer, G. H. Senft and Tommie Hughes. The sole contention of the railroad company is that the putting in of two crossings would make irreparable damage to the railroad and to its operations, and the further allegation that one crossing is all that is necessary.
Robbins & Kunkle appear for the railroad company while Attorneys Lightcap & Heller are looking out for the interests of the borough and the adjacent property owners, respectively. It is hardly likely that the case will be concluded this afternoon.
