Plans To Issue Bonds
Houses and Company Stores Will Be Built At Ligonier
Plans are being formed by the Old Colony Coal & Coke Company to issue $250,000
worth of bonds. The purpose of the bond issue is to enable the company to build employes houses and company stores at both the Ligonier Valley and the Glen Easton mines and to take up other projects.
The company was formerly known as the Colonial Coal & Coke Company, but this name was objected to by the Pittsburgh Coal Company, which owns the Colonial Coke Company. After consideration the name "Colonial" was changed to "Old Colony."
This company is shipping coal and coke every day from its Ligonier mines which is
giving satisfaction wherever used. This coal and coke is of the same grade as that of the Connellsville region.
