Railroad Dispute Settled

The contention between the Ligonier Valley and the Westmoreland Central railroad companies has been settled. An official of the Colonial Coal and Coke Company, which is financing the construction of the Westmoreland Central railroad, was seen yesterday in reference to the injunction proceedings instigated by the Ligonier Valley Railroad company against the Westmoreland Central Railroad company, and which reports from Greensburg stated, was continued and would prove a serious handicap to the development of the Colonial Coal and Coke Companys properties. He said that the matter has been satisfactorily arranged between the two companies in reference to the 4,200 feet of right of way in dispute.

The arrangement provides for the extension of the Ligonier Valley switch over the disputed right of way, making connection with the coal companys branch at this point, with a working arrangement with the Ligonier Valley railroad to furnish cars and engine service to their works for the output of their coal and coke that will be shipped over the Ligonier Valley road. This arrangement is especially favorable for the coal company as it will give an outlet for its product and enable it to get its coal and coke on the market without further delay.

The coal company has a tipple and coke ovens under construction that will be completed in the very near future and will have an output of 1,000 tons a day.
