Latrobe Station
Final Plans Approved By Railroad Company
Plans for the new Pennsylvania railroad station at Latrobe have been completed. The work of tearing down the old Clifford house has begun to make room for the erection of the new station house on its site.
The building will be of buff brick trimmed in terra cotta; will be a story and a half in
height. The length will be 120 feet and 10 inches, the width being 41 feet. The building will face on Station street. On the ground floor will be the main waiting room, 40x32 feet; the ticket office 18x23feet; the baggage room, 18x29 feet, 4 inches; and the express office, 29-4x18 feet, 4 inches. There will be a shelter around the entire building. The building will be heated by steam.
The east-bound trains will be reached by passing through the tunnel and up a flight of stairs leading to the platform while a flight of stairs will lead direct from the station to the west-bound track. The platform will be roofed over thus providing ample shelter. There will also be approaches to the track from Ligonier street, steps leading up direct from the
sidewalk.
