Idlewild Picnics
An Unprecedented Rush to This Favorite Resort
Never before in the history of Idlewild, on the Ligonier Valley road, has there been such a rush for dates for picnics. The fames of the unequalled, (in this part of the state, at least,) natural beauty of these parks, has spread far and wide, and the low rates offered by the railroads has made the forming of dates greater than ever before. Excursions from Manchester and South Side, Pittsburg to this point, have been unknown, heretofore these all went to Allegrippa[sic?]. The following dates are already positively taken:
May 14, students from St. Vincents; May 17, Latrobe Catholic School children; May 30, Stationary Engineers from Pittsburg; June the 1, Junior, O.U.A.M. of Braddock; June10, Presbyterian Sunday school, Pittsburg; June 11, Mt. Washington, Presbyterian Sabbath School, Pittsburg.
Sabbath Schools and public schools from Latrobe to Idlewild, and return have a rate of 15 cents.
