Being Laid With Steel Rails
Monday last the repair gang on the Ligonier Valley Railroad commenced putting down steel rails. The new rails weight fifty-six pounds to the yard and when placed in position and ballasted, will bear the heaviest locomotive. Work was commenced at the Latrobe end of the road and will be continued until the entire road is newly ironed. The business of road is always on the increase and under the successful management of Mr. Geo. Senft, the genial superintendent, cannot help but to continue to prosper.
